A woman who underwent an abortion surgery during pregnancy faced severe criticism after posting a vlog documenting the process. It was pointed out that there were discrepancies between the ultrasound photos and the video’s upload date, suggesting that the video was fabricated.

Recently, various online communities have been sharing posts with screenshots from a short-form video posted by a content creator on the 24th, alongside a vlog titled “Total surgery cost 9 million won, hellish 120 hours,” which was uploaded on June 27.

At 24 years old, the content creator revealed her noticeable pregnant belly due to an unwanted pregnancy, stating, “Around March, when my period stopped for a long time, I visited an obstetrician-gynecologist who attributed it to polycystic ovary syndrome and hormonal imbalance, so I didn’t suspect anything.”

Initially thinking she had just gained a significant amount of weight, she discovered her pregnancy during a belated visit to the internal medicine department. She had scheduled an endoscopy because she was feeling unwell, which led to the unexpected discovery.

The woman shared a scene of herself undergoing an ultrasound examination, expressing, “Even after seeing it, I couldn’t believe it. I went to the hospital wanting to erase it, but it was too late to do so. Everything just felt miserable and hopeless.”

According to the ultrasound shown in the video, the content creator was 36 weeks pregnant at the time. The doctor commented, “The heart is beating. Did you unknowingly take any medication? At this stage, you have to give birth.”

The content creator said, “I visited a total of three hospitals, but all I heard was that abortion surgery during pregnancy was impossible,” adding, “I wanted to die because of the outcome created by my careless attitude.”

After discovering her pregnancy, the content creator located a hospital that was willing to perform the abortion. She traveled a considerable distance by train to get there and recorded herself after the surgery, which was completed under general anesthesia.

“When the surgery was over, my stomach was covered with a bandage, and a catheter was inserted,” she described and documented her recovery process in the video.

As the content creator’s video gained attention, people expressed strong disapproval, stating, “Even if she had no choice but to undergo an abortion, we can’t comprehend why she would document it in a vlog. At 36 weeks, it feels like she terminated the life of a fully developed baby. Doesn’t she feel any guilt?” Another comment highlighted, “Some women deliver babies at 36 weeks, yet she’s showcasing the act of terminating a pregnancy as if it were something to boast about,” and “Turning this into content is highly unpleasant and repulsive.”

Further opinions emerged claiming that the content creator’s video was fabricated. The ultrasound photos in the video were dated June 24, but the video was uploaded three days later on the 27th. People questioned the logic behind editing and posting a video so quickly after supposedly undergoing surgery immediately following the ultrasound. They commented, “Even if she had surgery right after the ultrasound, does it make sense to edit and upload the video within three days?” and “The discrepancies in dates and the condition of her belly in the post-abortion video seem fabricated,” along with reactions like, “She was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in March, but didn’t detect the pregnancy? It’s unbelievable.”
