South Korea’s Gwangju Global Motors held a ceremony today at its headquarters assembly plant located in Gwangju Bitgreen Industrial Complex to commemorate the production of Casper Electric, marking the beginning of full-scale electric vehicle production. This was two years and ten months after they started producing the Casper on September 15, 2021.

The Casper EV, exported to over 50 major countries worldwide, is expected to propel Gwangju Global Motors to a new level and serve as a stepping stone to becoming one of the world’s leading specialized car manufacturers.

The Casper EV boasts a distinctive design, 315 km per charge range, expanded interior space, and high-end safety and convenience features, earning it top marks in its class.

With a competitive price range in the early to mid 20 million won (starting at $23,000, $15K with rebates), it is expected to create a sensation domestically and globally.

Gwangju Global Motors plans to produce 21,400 units of the Casper electric vehicles this year, more than 25% from the original plan of 17,400.

The total production volume for this year is expected to reach 53,000 units, a record high. Furthermore, the company currently provides around 650 jobs and plans to increase this number to 1,000 by next year, contributing significantly to youth job creation.

Yoon Mong Hyun, CEO of Gwangju Global Motors, stated, “On July 6, for the first time, Gwangju Global Motors began working overtime on Saturdays. Although our plant has state-of-the-art facilities capable of producing 100,000 units, it previously operated only on weekdays. Now, by also running on Saturdays, we are accelerating the achievement of our goals.”
