On Thursday, Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai Motors) unveiled the first teaser video for its next-generation high-performance electric sedan, the IONIQ 6 N.
The teaser showcases the IONIQ 6 N’s silhouette racing on a track, using cinematic techniques to highlight the dynamic nature of this high-performance electric sedan. It also features the car’s low, wide body and a large wing spoiler that embodies its motorsports genes.
Developed on the foundation of Hyundai Motors’ high-performance N brand philosophy (cornering, track driving, and everyday sports car performance), the IONIQ 6 N is Hyundai Motors’ second high-performance electric vehicle (EV), following the IONIQ 5 N. The actual vehicle will make its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK on July 10.
Hyundai Motors has equipped the IONIQ 6 N with cutting-edge technologies, including next-generation suspension geometry, N e-Shift, N Active Sound Plus, and N Drift Optimizer.
The next-generation suspension geometry lowers the roll center—the pivot point at which the vehicle leans—and increases the caster trail, which is the distance between the tire contact points. This technology enhances vehicle stability during high-speed cornering and improves straight-line performance.
N e-Shift applies tighter gear ratios, enabling seamless acceleration and dynamic driving. The N Drift Optimizer has been refined to allow drivers more precise control over drift assistance levels.
Park Joon Woo, Head of Hyundai Motor’s N Management Team, said that the IONIQ 6 N is designed to deliver the most immersive driving experience in the EV era. Further, noting that its goal is to set a new benchmark in the EV market by showcasing the sheer joy of driving an EV, rather than just impressing with performance numbers.
