Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the concept car for INSTER, its export-oriented Casper Electric model, signaling its push into overseas markets.

On Monday, Hyundai showcased the design concept car INSTEROID at Peaches. D8NE in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.

INSTEROID combines the unique and spirited essence of INSTER with STEROID, meaning to enhance. It adds game-inspired designs to INSTER.

INSTEROID is the result of a project that boldly addresses the question, “What if?” While preserving INSTER’s distinctive designs, it features an expanded body, 21-inch wheels, an aerodynamic wing spoiler, and wheel arch air flaps, all enhancing stability and efficiency.

Inside, the vehicle offers an immersive digital experience through its soundscape and unique cockpit. Drivers can personalize their ride by applying the Boost character, INSTEROID’s signature element, to the dashboard, sound design, and various interior and exterior components.

The INSTEROID Unique Sound developed for situations like vehicle boarding/alighting, idling, and drifting, introduces a novel concept of emotional connection between car and driver. The interior employs recycled yarn in 3D knit fabric and a lightweight lattice structure, reducing weight while prioritizing sustainability.

Simon Loasby, Executive Director of the Hyundai Design Center, stated, INSTEROID’s powerful design and immersive sound experience will inspire us all to dream more freely and imagine more joyfully.”

INSTEROID will make its public debut at the Seoul Mobility Show starting this Thursday. It will help introduce INSTER to future key global markets. Hyundai plans to launch INSTER in select markets across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and parts of Central and South America this year.

Since its European debut last year, INSTER has garnered global attention, recently becoming a finalist for the 2025 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) award.
