LS Cable & System has landed a major contract in the U.S., securing a high-voltage cable supply deal worth approximately 700 billion KRW (about 482 million USD).

The company announced on Tuesday that its North American subsidiary, LS Cable Systems America Inc. (LSCSA), has signed a cable supply agreement with a U.S.-based firm.

The contract encompasses the supply of 345 kV underground high-voltage cables, along with electrical installation and commissioning services.

The deal specifically includes the delivery of 345 kV underground cables valued at 317.3 billion KRW (about 218 million USD) and submarine cables worth 369.2 billion KRW (about 254 million USD), bringing the total contract value to about 700 billion KRW (about 482 million USD).

The contract periods extend from February 9 to October 15, 2029, for one part, and to April 13, 2030, for another.

LS Cable & System explained that the scale of the order was too large for its North American subsidiary to handle alone, necessitating the involvement of the domestic LS Cable division in fulfilling the contract.

The company stated that due to confidentiality agreements with the client, it is unable to disclose the specific contract name or the identity of the original client. It plans to file an amended disclosure with these details once the confidentiality period expires. It’s worth noting that the contract amount, duration, and other specific terms may be subject to change as the project progresses.
