The wife of former Clone member Koo Jun Yup and renowned Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu tragically passed away during a family trip to Japan. In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, Hsu’s sister, Dee Hsu, shared a poignant image of a hairpin believed to be a cherished keepsake of the late star.

On Sunday, Dee Hsu posted the photo of the hairpin on her Instagram story without any caption, leaving fans to speculate on its meaning.

The photograph features a delicate pearl-adorned ribbon hairpin, a style that perfectly embodies Barbie Hsu’s signature charm and elegance. The sight of this personal item has only deepened the grief felt by her global fanbase.

Barbie Hsu’s untimely death occurred on February 2 during a family vacation in Japan, reportedly due to complications from pneumonia and the flu. After cremation services in Japan, Koo Jun Yeop and the family brought her remains back to Taiwan on February 5.

In an emotional Instagram post on February 6, Koo Jun Yeop expressed his grief: “I’m currently enduring an indescribable sorrow and pain that feels as if my very core is being ripped apart. I have no words, and I don’t wish to speak.”

As for Barbie Hsu’s estate, Koo Jun Yeop revealed his plans to transfer his entire share to his mother-in-law. He added, “To protect our children’s rights from exploitation, I’m taking legal steps through an attorney to ensure they are safeguarded until they come of age.”

Barbie Hsu became an international star with her breakout role as Shan Cai in Meteor Garden, the Taiwanese adaptation of the popular Japanese manga Boys Over Flowers, which aired in 2001. Her romance with Koo Jun Yeop captivated fans across Asia. The two first met in Taiwan in 1998, but their relationship ended a year later due to the challenges of long-distance dating and opposition from their agencies.

In a twist of fate, after Hsu’s divorce from Chinese business tycoon Wang Xiaofei in 2021, Koo Jun Yeop reached out to her after two decades apart. The couple rekindled their relationship and married in 2022. Two children from her previous marriage survive Barbie Hsu.
