The team behind the film Lobby, directed by Ha Jung Woo, has released behind-the-scenes stills showcasing the high-stakes and unpredictable world of lobbying and the characters who dive into it.
Distributor Showbox unveiled eight fresh set photos on Monday, showcasing the dynamic cast, including Ha Jung Woo, Kim Ui Sung, Lee Dong Hwi, Kang Hae Rim, Kang Mal Geum, Park Byeong Eun, and Park Hae Soo.
In one notable still, startup CEO Chang Wook (played by Ha Jung Woo) awkwardly grips a golf club upside down—clearly out of his element. Another photo reveals him bowing deeply, hands clasped in respect, to the powerful political figure Choi (Kim Ui Sung). Both images emphasize Chang Wook’s eagerness—and desperation—as he dives into the cutthroat lobbying scene to secure a massive government contract worth 4 trillion KRW ($3 billion).
Additional photos capture the suspense and unpredictability of the characters’ interactions on the golf course—the heart of political lobbying. Chang Wook, investigative reporter Park (Lee Dong Hwi), and professional golfer Jin Pro (Kang Hae Rim) stare in astonishment after an unexpected golf shot. Meanwhile, seasoned political heavyweight Choi (Kim Ui Sung) strikes an oddly theatrical pose, swinging his club almost as if dancing, revealing a quirky side to his influential persona.
The contrast between Chang Wook’s rookie lobbying team and the seasoned veterans adds another layer of tension to the story. A telling image shows rival CEO Kwang Woo (Park Byeong Eun) respectfully bowing to Minister Cho (Kang Mal Geum), who holds the key to the project. This foreshadows the formidable opposition Chang Wook faces. In another still, the authoritative and imposing golf course owner (Park Hae Soo) is seen berating someone beneath him, further hinting at the cutthroat nature of this world.
Lobby follows the journey of Chang Wook, a research-focused startup CEO who uses golf to lobby for a 4 trillion KRW national project. The film will be released nationwide on April 2.
