Actress Jeon Yeo Bin transforms into a nun grappling with doubt and curiosity in the upcoming movie The Black Nuns.

The Black Nuns, which will premiere in January 2025, follows a group of individuals who undertake a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful demonic force.

Jeon plays Sister Michaela, a disciple of Father Paolo and a psychiatry resident who joins the dangerous exorcism despite her skepticism. While Michaela denies any signs of possession herself, she becomes increasingly conflicted as she encounters inexplicable phenomena.

Initially resistant to the desperate pleas of Sister Unia (portrayed by Song Hye Kyo), Michaela’s curiosity is piqued as she witnesses Unia’s unwavering resolve to save the boy at any cost. Jeon’s nuanced portrayal of this complex character promises to elevate the film’s intensity with her refined acting prowess.

Director Kwon Hyuk Jae praised Jeon’s performance, saying, “Jeon Yeo Bin’s portrayal allowed us to capture Michaela’s growth and transformation more vividly.” The actress commented, “I focused on conveying Michaela’s subtle expressions in various situations, striving to embody her perspective throughout the film authentically.” Her dedication has sparked considerable anticipation for her performance.

The Black Nuns, the latest film from the production company behind hit movies such as The PriestsDefaultMaster, and Broker, will be released in theaters on January 24, 2025.
