Google has released its second software update for April 2025, which addresses step count inaccuracies in the Pixel Watch.
TechRadar reported that Google has released a software update to resolve step-counting issues reported by some users.
Google announced that it has reverted the algorithm to its original state to fix the problem. Users can check for update availability through notifications, with the rollout happening gradually.
This update is crucial for Pixel Watch 3 users, which was released last year. Wear OS 5.1 introduces heart rate detection for U.S. users, capable of alerting emergency services and nearby contacts if the user’s heart stops. However, this feature is exclusive to the Pixel Watch 3.
Pixel Watch 2 users aren’t left out, gaining access to new features like menstrual health tracking, improved media controls, and an enhanced automatic sleep mode.
This patch did not include the highly anticipated Gemini update for Google’s AI assistant. Analysts speculate that Google may unveil this feature alongside the Pixel Watch 4 launch. Gemini is set to replace the current Google Assistant, promising a more advanced AI-powered wrist companion for Pixel Watch users.
This Pixel Watch update significantly improves fitness tracking accuracy and has the potential for expanded AI capabilities. It is highly anticipated to see what groundbreaking features the Pixel Watch 4 might introduce.
