Samsung SDI announced on Monday that it will unveil new products at InterBattery Europe 2025 next month in Munich, Germany.

InterBattery Europe is one of Europe’s largest energy industry exhibitions, with over 200 international companies expected to participate this year.

Samsung SDI plans to showcase batteries that demonstrate enhanced safety and user-friendliness, with a focus on energy storage system (ESS) technologies designed for the AI era.

Its new flagship product is the U8A1 battery for United Parcel Service – UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. UPS is a critical system that provides power during outages in facilities such as data centers.

The U8A1 combines ultra-high output characteristics with high energy density, enabling optimal efficiency in compact spaces. This product is tailored to the rapidly growing demand for generative AI and the expanding data center market.

The SBB (Samsung Battery Box) 1.5, a power ESS solution will be also on display. The SBB is a 20-foot container housing battery cells, modules, racks, and other components.

Samsung SDI is the sole South Korean battery manufacturer to be named a finalist for The smarter E Award at the event. This prestigious award recognizes innovative products and technologies across five categories: energy storage, e-mobility, solar energy, smart energy, and outstanding projects.

A Samsung SDI spokesperson stated that the company will present an ESS battery portfolio optimized for customers’ diverse operational environments, offering a glimpse into everyday life powered by ESS batteries.
