SK Telecom unveiled its exclusive device, the Galaxy Quantum 7, on Tuesday. This new model boasts near-flagship performance in a sleek package.
The Galaxy Quantum 7, exclusive to SK Telecom, sets a new standard for portability in the Quantum series. At just 6.9mm thick and weighing 179g (about 6.3 oz), it’s not only the thinnest and lightest Quantum device but also one of the most compact in the entire Galaxy A lineup.
The device is packed with practical features, including advanced AI capabilities and support for 45W fast charging.
A standout addition to its artificial intelligence (AI) arsenal is the Voice Transcript Assist function, which can convert audio files to text and even provide translations.
The Quantum 7 retains popular AI features from its predecessors, such as Google’s Circle to Search, Best Face for selecting optimal expressions from motion photos, and the ‘AI Eraser’ for easy photo editing. These tools are designed to enhance everyday usability.
Camera performance has seen a significant upgrade. The Quantum 7 is the first in the Galaxy A series to feature low-light noise reduction, dramatically improving photo and video quality in dim environments.
The device’s durability has also been enhanced, with an IP68 water and dust resistance rating matching that of the latest flagship models.
The Galaxy Quantum 7 is available through SK Telecom’s online store, T Direct Shop, and T World retail locations nationwide. It comes in three colors: Awesome Gray, Awesome Ice Blue, and Awesome Lilac – with the latter exclusive to T Direct Shop. The device is priced at 717,200 KRW (approximately 519 USD).
To mark the launch, SK Telecom is rolling out several promotional offers.
For the first two weeks following the release, until September 7, all Quantum 7 buyers will receive a two-month YouTube Premium subscription (part of the T Universe service) and coupons for two free Mega MGC coffees.
T Direct Shop is offering additional perks: the first 1,500 customers purchasing by September 23 will receive 30,000 KRW (about 21.70 USD) in Naver Pay points. All buyers will get a T Gift package featuring coupons worth 30,000 KRW (about 21.70 USD) for popular brands like Olive Young and Musinsa.
During a special T Direct Shop live stream at 2:00 p.m. (Korean time) on August 26, the first 500 participants can snag a voucher worth 187,000 KRW (around 135 USD) towards their Quantum 7 purchase.
Kwon Hyun-cheol, SK Telecom’s Sales & Marketing chief, stated that the Galaxy Quantum 7 is the exclusive offering, designed to deliver essential AI features and high performance while keeping costs in check. It’s committed to expanding the device lineup to cater to diverse customer needs.
In response to rising living costs, SK Telecom is also expanding discounts on plans and membership partnerships to ease customer financial burdens and boost the value of their communication services.
