Korea’s Olive Young Gets a New Sleep Aid: Daewon Launches Honey Sleep Shot Backed by a Study

Daewon Health, the comprehensive wellness brand from Daewon Pharmaceutical, is set to launch its new sleep-aid product, Honey Sleep Shot, in over 900 Olive Young stores nationwide and on the wellness curation platform Olive Better, as announced on Wednesday.

This debut marks a significant milestone for Daewon Pharmaceutical as its first foray into Olive Young. The company aims to implement a dual distribution strategy, targeting both widely accessible retail stores and specialized health management outlets, to establish a broad consumer base right from the product’s launch.

Honey Sleep Shot is tailored for modern individuals who struggle with deep sleep or frequent night-time disturbances, as well as domestic and international travelers battling jet lag-induced sleep issues.

Leveraging Daewon Pharmaceutical’s unique expertise, the product comes in an easy-to-use squeeze pouch, perfect for on-the-go consumption.

The star ingredient is a 100% plant-based lime peel extract, which has secured a Korean patent and received recognition from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its potential to enhance sleep quality.

Each pouch contains the recommended daily dose of 300 mg, derived entirely from plant sources, making it gentle on the body even with prolonged use.

A clinical study involving 80 adults aged 19 to 65 years revealed significant improvements in key sleep metrics, including longer total sleep time, better sleep efficiency, quicker sleep onset, reduced wake time after falling asleep, increased Stage 2 non-REM sleep, and decreased overall wake time.

Baek In Young, head of Daewon Pharmaceutical’s Healthcare Business Division, said Honey Sleep Shot is the company’s answer for people struggling with quality sleep due to hectic lifestyles or jet lag, adding that it was carefully formulated with patented plant-based ingredients. He also said marketing will focus on making the professional sleep solution easily accessible to consumers.
