Wontech, a laser and energy-based medical solutions company, is experiencing remarkable growth. Leveraging its competitive pricing and reliable treatment efficacy, the firm is rapidly expanding its reach beyond South Korea into global markets.
Recently, Wontech secured medical device certification for its V-Laser in Canada, signaling a significant push into the North American market.
Industry reports from February 27 indicate that Wontech, established in 1999, specializes in aesthetic medical devices. As a manufacturer and distributor of laser, ultrasound, and radiofrequency medical equipment, the company oversees the entire process from research and development to production and after-sales service.
Wontech’s impressive product lineup, developed using advanced core technologies, includes surgical devices, aesthetic equipment (laser/RF/HIFU), and home care solutions such as HairBeam for hair loss treatment.
After gaining international recognition, Wontech went public on the KOSDAQ in 2022 through a merger with Daishin Balance No. 8 Special Purpose Acquisition Company. This move secured funding for research, development, and global marketing initiatives.
Wontech’s flagship product, Oligio, employs monopolar RF technology to deliver thermal energy deep into the skin, promoting tissue coagulation. It has garnered praise both domestically and internationally for its brief treatment times, rapid recovery, and high safety standards.
The company’s business model combines equipment sales with recurring revenue from treatment consumables, strengthening its financial base as installations increase. Wontech has established subsidiaries in the United States, China, and Japan, expanding its presence to over 60 countries worldwide. Recently, it obtained medical device approvals in the UK and Australia.
Earlier this year, Wontech unveiled next-generation healthcare solutions at CES 2023, the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition. The company introduced PETRA&LIME, a non-contact biometric measurement solution, and ELLISE, a laser-electrical stimulation pain relief system. Both products, developed using AI, optical technology, and clinical validation, are poised to drive innovation in the healthcare sector.
Notably, Wontech’s subsidiary, WonMedico, showcased several products, including HairBoom, LiftenS, Ultraskin S, OLIGIHOME, and Petite Glow, highlighting the company’s strategic direction for business expansion.

V-Laser Secures Medical Device Certification in Canada
Wontech generates over 60% of its total revenue from international markets. The company has secured major global certifications, including from the U.S. FDA, Australia’s TGA, Europe’s CE, and Thailand’s FDA. Recently, its V-Laser has been gaining significant attention.
The V-Laser, featuring dual-wavelength technology for versatile applications and high-power energy delivery, has now received approval from the Canadian health authorities, following similar approvals in Australia and Vietnam.
North America is the largest revenue segment of the global aesthetic medical laser market. According to Fortune Business Insights (2024), this market is projected to grow at an annual rate exceeding 10% until 2030.
In North America, clinical reliability and versatility in addressing various conditions are key criteria for equipment selection. The V-Laser, designed for all skin types, is expected to be highly competitive in this market.
A Wontech representative said the V-Laser certification marks the company’s fifth approval in Canada, demonstrating its systematic expansion in the North American market. The representative added that Wontech plans to strengthen collaborations with local medical professionals and develop a diverse product portfolio that meets market demand, positioning North America as a key driver of its global growth strategy.
