Merz Aesthetics Asia said on April 27 it has been selected for the second consecutive year in the “Top 50 Global Sustainable Brands Recommended to Consumers” as part of the “2026 Global Sustainable Leaders, Companies and Brands 100” announced by the UN SDGs Association.
Yoo Soo-yeon, CEO of Merz Aesthetics Korea, was also named for the second straight year in the “Global Sustainable Innovation Leader” category.
The UN SDGs Association, an international advisory body on sustainable management, annually selects and announces sustainable leaders, companies and brands across the global public and private sectors.
Merz received high marks for its systematic management based on ESG indicators reflecting industry characteristics, performance monitoring and verification systems, employee-participatory governance and execution capabilities grounded in education and organizational culture.
The company’s “ESG Index,” which was highly evaluated in this assessment, is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while reflecting the characteristics of the medical aesthetics industry.
Among the 17 key goals included in the UN SDGs, the company selected 12, establishing 37 sub-goals and 81 measurement indicators, and undergoes annual objective evaluations of its ESG performance through the UN SDGs Association.
As a result, the company recorded an overall “A” grade for excellence for the second consecutive year, demonstrating balanced performance across environmental, social and governance areas and setting a benchmark for sustainability management in the medical aesthetics industry.
Yoo said, “This is an objective recognition of the effectiveness of the ESG management system Merz has pursued,” adding, “We will continue to advance our sustainable management model to establish proper standards in the industry and fulfill our social responsibilities as a leading company.”
