Medical artificial intelligence company Lunit has been named to TIME’s World’s Best HealthTech Companies 2026 list.

TIME, in partnership with global data and market research firm Statista, has conducted a multi-dimensional evaluation since last year to identify innovative and promising companies across the global health technology industry. This year, the ranking recognized a total of 500 companies across more than 30 countries.

The evaluation assessed companies across six categories: AI and Data Analytics, Diagnostics, Health Information and Management, Medical Devices and Wearables, Prevention, and Telehealth and Treatment. Companies were evaluated based on three broad indicators: financial performance, reputation analysis and online engagement.

Lunit was recognized among the world’s leading health technology companies in the Diagnostics category, highlighting its competitiveness in the global diagnostics market.

The Diagnostics category encompasses digital solutions that support disease assessment and diagnosis, including medical image analysis and monitoring technologies designed to facilitate early disease detection. The recognition is particularly significant for Lunit, which has built its business primarily around AI-powered cancer diagnostics.

Lunit is expanding its presence in the global medical imaging and diagnostics markets through its Lunit INSIGHT portfolio of AI-based image analysis solutions. As of the second quarter of last year, approximately 95% of the company’s total revenue came from overseas markets.

The company has expanded its market reach by building direct sales capabilities in major markets including the United States and Europe through subsidiaries such as Lunit SCOPE International, formerly Volpara, while continuing to broaden its presence through partnerships with global medical device companies including GE HealthCare, Philips and Fujifilm.

Lunit INSIGHT is the company’s flagship product family, using AI to analyze medical images such as chest X-rays and mammograms to detect abnormalities, including potential signs of cancer, and assist healthcare professionals with diagnosis.

Lunit’s AI solutions have now been adopted by more than 10,000 healthcare institutions across approximately 70 countries, where they are being used throughout the cancer care journey, from diagnosis through treatment.

Lunit CEO Seo Beom-seok said, “This recognition demonstrates the business competitiveness and trust Lunit has built in healthcare settings around the world. We will continue establishing a foundation for sustainable growth so that more healthcare professionals and patients can benefit from AI-driven innovation in healthcare.”
