Celltrion is expanding its presence beyond Europe’s five largest pharmaceutical markets, securing a series of public-sector tenders for newer products across Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, and Denmark.

The company said on October 1 that its autoimmune treatment Aptozma (tocilizumab), allergy treatment Omlyclo (omalizumab), and bone-disease treatment Osenvilt (denosumab) have won major medicine procurement tenders across several European markets.

Aptozma won a national tender in Norway, with both prefilled syringe (PFS) and autoinjector (AI) formulations scheduled to be supplied for two years beginning earlier this year. Celltrion expects the product to maintain an average market share of about 85% in Norway’s tocilizumab market.

In Finland, Aptozma held a 42% share of the retail market for subcutaneous formulations as of June. Its intravenous formulation also recently secured a tender in eastern Finland.

In the Netherlands, Celltrion won tocilizumab tenders operated by IZAAZ, a major purchasing group representing seven university hospitals, as well as SMK, a hospital specializing in musculoskeletal and rheumatology care. Supply of Aptozma began in March.

The company subsequently won tenders from the southeastern regional purchasing group ICZON and the ZRIG hospital procurement consortium during the second quarter, securing supply volumes representing about 58% of the local tocilizumab market.

Aptozma is Celltrion’s biosimilar version of Roche’s RoActemra. The product received European Union approval in February 2025 and can be used for conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, giant cell arteritis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis, according to the European Medicines Agency.

Celltrion has built its European biosimilar business since launching Remsima in 2013. Its established network among hospitals and healthcare professionals is now being used to support the rollout of newer products across the region.

Other newer products are also gaining traction in Northern Europe. Omlyclo, used to treat chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergic asthma, secured exclusive supply rights in a Danish tender and recently won an extension of its supply contract. Celltrion expects to maintain more than 98% of Denmark’s omalizumab market through the end of the year.

Osenvilt also won exclusive national tenders in Norway and Denmark, with commercial supply scheduled to begin this month.

Celltrion plans to combine its established direct-sales network with its expanding product portfolio to accelerate its European market expansion. In countries where products are already available, the company plans to focus on additional tenders and prescription growth, while using pre-launch marketing to establish an early position in markets where new products have yet to launch.

Baek Seung-doo, head of Celltrion’s Nordic operations, said the company is continuing to secure tender wins for newer products across major Nordic markets, including exclusive supply positions in some countries. He said Celltrion plans to convert those tender wins into actual sales through differentiated products and reliable supply capabilities.
