NIBEC is strengthening its push into the European market with regenerative biomaterials certified under Europe’s Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

The company said it participated in the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) Congress 2026, held September 24-26 in Lisbon, Portugal, where it showcased its regenerative biomaterials and clinical applications.

EAO Congress is an international dental and implantology event attended by researchers, clinicians and companies from around the world to share the latest research findings and treatment strategies.

At the event, NIBEC hosted an industry forum titled “Regenerative Strategies, Biomaterials and Biological Approaches for the Prevention and Recovery of Alveolar Ridge Atrophy.”

Five experts from South Korea and overseas, including Seoul National University School of Dentistry professors Kim Sung-tae and Cho Young-dan and Ricardo Faria Almeida, a professor at the University of Porto in Portugal, shared their clinical experiences using NIBEC’s products in actual patients.

The discussions covered treatment strategies for rebuilding alveolar bone lost following tooth extraction or periodontal disease, as well as approaches to securing sufficient bone for dental implant placement.

At its exhibition booth, NIBEC showcased OCS-B, a bone graft material that has obtained European MDR certification, along with Regenomer, a collagen-based tissue regeneration material. The company also introduced clinical applications of its products to overseas clinicians and industry representatives while holding discussions aimed at securing new distribution partners.

NIBEC’s core regenerative biomaterials business generated approximately $4.1 million in revenue in the second quarter, representing a 23% increase from the same period a year earlier. The company plans to expand overseas sales, including in Europe, by increasing its portfolio of MDR-certified products and strengthening its international distribution network.

NIBEC is also pursuing expanded partnerships with global companies. During the event, the company reviewed existing collaborations with major dental and implant companies including Straumann and Nobel Biocare and discussed potential opportunities to expand product supply and pursue additional business cooperation.

A NIBEC representative said, “As global clinical references continue to accumulate and our portfolio of MDR-certified products expands, the foundation for growing our overseas business is becoming stronger. We will expand product supply in Europe and other global markets while continuing to grow our core business.”
