VAIM, a leading medical aesthetics company, has made a significant move into the Chinese market with the official launch of its innovative skincare product, Juvelook. This strategic entry follows the company’s recent Class III medical device approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in July. The launch event served as a platform to introduce the product to local healthcare professionals and hospital administrators, laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
On Tuesday, VAIM hosted a high-profile launch event for Juvelook in Beijing, in partnership with local distributor Bloomage Biotech. The event drew an impressive crowd of around 500 attendees, including prominent figures from the medical and aesthetic industries.
The launch showcased Juvelook’s cutting-edge research and development process, its unique technical features, and real-world clinical applications. Dr. Kim Geun-pung, the mastermind behind the product, provided insights into the scientific background of Juvelook. Dr. Park Je-young, director of the prestigious Apgujeong Oracle Corporation Dermatology Clinic, shared compelling clinical case studies. The event also facilitated discussions on implementing Juvelook in Chinese hospitals, drawing from the extensive experience of Korean medical professionals.
In a symbolic gesture, VAIM presented a certification plaque to its first official partner medical institution in China, signaling the beginning of a broader collaboration with local healthcare facilities. The company plans to leverage Bloomage Biotech’s extensive local network to expand its presence across key Chinese regions through additional launch events and academic exchanges.
This launch marks a crucial milestone in VAIM’s Chinese market strategy, following the recent medical device approval. It builds on the company’s September initiative, where 170 Chinese medical aesthetics professionals were invited to South Korea for an exclusive tour of VAIM’s headquarters and state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Daejeon.
A spokesperson for VAIM stated that its collaboration with Bloomage Biotech has allowed them to effectively communicate Juvelook’s technological superiority and clinical efficacy to local medical professionals. It’s committed to expanding the academic partnerships and collaborations with medical institutions across China’s major regions.
VAIM, established in 2014, has carved a niche in the medical aesthetics industry with its focus on biodegradable polymer technology for skin and tissue regeneration. The company’s journey in aesthetics began with a groundbreaking polymer microparticle patent in 2017, followed by the 2019 launch of Juvelook, an innovative combination of PDLLA and hyaluronic acid (HA).
Juvelook has seen remarkable success, surpassing 1 million vials in cumulative shipments by 2024, with projections to exceed 3 million vials in cumulative production by 2026. VAIM continues to strengthen its position in the medical aesthetics market with recent expansions to its product line, including the introduction of Juvelook Skin.
