G2G Bio plans to introduce formulation technology that concentrates antibody drugs at high levels for subcutaneous injection to the global market. Building on its experience developing and manufacturing long-acting injectable drugs, the company aims to collaborate with global pharmaceutical companies by offering technology designed to make antibody treatments more convenient to administer.
On the 14th, G2G Bio announced that it would unveil InnoBioLAMP, an ultra-high-concentration antibody subcutaneous (SC) injection platform, at PODD 2026, a global drug delivery technology conference scheduled for the 29th and 30th.
InnoBioLAMP is a new platform under development, drawing on the company’s experience developing and scaling up production of its existing long-acting injectable platform, InnoLAMP. G2G Bio has been advancing development of the platform since signing a memorandum of understanding with Celltrion for joint research in July.
Demand has recently increased in the antibody drug market for converting intravenous (IV) treatments to subcutaneous injections. Subcutaneous injections take less time to administer than intravenous infusions and can reduce the burden of hospital visits. However, antibody drugs are large molecules often administered in substantial doses, requiring technology that can pack high concentrations of the drug into a limited injection volume.
G2G Bio said it had confirmed the potential to achieve antibody concentrations exceeding 750 milligrams per milliliter by addressing technical challenges associated with highly concentrated formulations, including protein aggregation and increased viscosity. The company noted, however, that this concentration represents a development result it has reported, and further validation is needed before the technology can be incorporated into actual products and commercialized.
The company plans to apply its experience in large-scale manufacturing, accumulated through the InnoLAMP platform, to antibody formulation technology to improve production efficiency and process stability. It also aims to expand the technology’s applications beyond monoclonal antibodies to include bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and fusion proteins that use the Fc region of antibodies.
G2G Bio previously held partnering meetings with more than 10 global pharmaceutical companies at BIO JAPAN in Japan. At the upcoming BIO-Europe event, the company also plans to discuss potential joint development projects and business partnerships with global pharmaceutical companies.
“We are seeing growing importance in technologies that formulate drugs themselves at ultra-high concentrations as the shift toward subcutaneous administration of antibody drugs accelerates,” said Lee Hee-yong, CEO of G2G Bio. “We will seek opportunities to collaborate with global pharmaceutical companies and translate our technology into business results.”
G2G Bio is a biotechnology company specializing in long-acting injectable drugs, founded by CEO Lee Hee-yong in 2017. Since its early days, the company has focused on developing technology that gradually releases drugs into the body over a set period. It was selected for the National Dementia Research and Development Program in 2018 and established a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production facility in Osong, North Chungcheong Province, in 2020. Since then, it has expanded joint development and business collaborations with South Korean pharmaceutical companies, including Samyang Holdings, Huons Meditech, Hanwha Pharmaceutical and Korea Pharma, as it works to commercialize its platform technology.
