Kim Ji-young, a rising influencer who gained fame from Heart Signal 4, recently opened up about her unexpected pregnancy.
On Tuesday, she connected with her followers through a Q&A video titled, Life After Reality TV: 3 Years Post-Dating Show, on her YouTube channel.
During the session, a fan inquired about the planned nature of her pregnancy. Kim candidly admitted that it originally intended to wait at least two more years. She had hoped to savor the newlywed phase a bit longer before starting a family.
She then delved into the details of her conception journey. She has polycystic ovary syndrome, which affects regular ovulation, Kim explained. Despite being 30, her ovarian age tested at 24. This younger ovarian age indicates fewer eggs are released than expected for her age, leading to irregular periods – which isn’t necessarily a positive thing.
Kim shared her medical history, stating that she’d been on birth control pills for about 5-6 years for treatment. However, due to potential blood clot risks, she took a two-month break. It was during this time that the little Pobi – the baby’s nickname – came into their lives, almost as if by destiny.
She further reflected that she’s heard it’s challenging for long-term birth control users to regain fertility quickly. It seems their Pobi was truly meant to be. Now, she’s overwhelmed with gratitude. Her words brimmed with affection for her unborn child.
Kim Ji-young, who previously worked as a flight attendant, first caught the public eye on Channel A’s 2023 dating reality show Heart Signal 4. This February, she tied the knot with Yoon Soo-young, the founder of a book club community who is six years her senior. While they initially planned an April wedding, the couple expedited their nuptials upon learning of Kim’s pregnancy.
