CJ Freshway announced on Wednesday that its Incheon Airport food court, Gourmet Bridge, has clinched a major award in the design concept category at the Red Dot Design Award, one of the world’s top three design accolades.

The Red Dot Design Award is a globally recognized design competition organized by Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia Design Center. Winners are selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of innovation, functionality, and aesthetics.

Gourmet Bridge earned high marks for its design, which thoughtfully considers airport passengers’ movement patterns and dwell time. The space brilliantly reimagines the traditional Korean chang (window) with a modern twist. This innovative approach embodies Incheon Airport’s symbolic role as a gateway between Korea and the world, delivering a unique brand experience.

CJ Freshway currently operates four Gourmet Bridge locations at Incheon Airport. Each spot boasts a distinct theme: the T1 East branch showcases tradition, T2 Central East and East locations spotlight the world, and the boarding area embraces the future.

With Incheon International Airport expected to welcome a record-breaking number of passengers this year, more travelers from home and abroad will have the chance to immerse themselves in Gourmet Bridge’s Korean-inspired aesthetics. Last year, Gourmet Bridge (across three locations) served about 2.3 million customers. This year, that number is projected to soar past 4 million annual visitors.
