Red Velvet is set to ignite everyone’s summer vibes with their new mini-album, Velvet Summer.
SM Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced that all tracks from Red Velvet’s summer mini-album Velvet Summer will drop on various global music platforms on August 3 at 6:00 p.m. (Korean time).
This fresh release boasts five tracks that showcase Red Velvet’s diverse musical spectrum and summer sensibilities, headlined by the title track “Surfin’ Boy,” which promises to be the next summer anthem in their repertoire.
“Hula Hoop,” one of the album’s tracks, is a mid-tempo pop gem that mesmerizes with its upbeat guitar play and catchy piano rhythms. The lyrics weave a tale of destined reconnections, capturing the essence of fleeting summer memories like a whimsical fairytale.
Another standout, “Hawaii,” is a rhythmic acoustic pop number featuring lyrics penned solely by member Joy, adding a layer of musical authenticity. The song paints a poignant picture of rediscovering childlike freedom and momentarily escaping life’s burdens, as if whisked away to the shores of Hawaii.
Building anticipation for the release, Red Velvet dropped teaser images on their official social media channels at midnight on Tuesday. The photos depict the full group embarking on a carefree road trip, showcasing their natural chemistry and distinctive aura that has fans worldwide buzzing with excitement.
