Is NewJeans poised for a comeback as a quartet?
On Wednesday, NewJeans dropped a special film on their official YouTube channel and unveiled photos featuring the four-member lineup across their social media platforms.
HYBE, NewJeans’ label and parent company of ADOR, clarified that this video was produced as commemorative content to celebrate the group’s 4th anniversary with their fans.
Regarding future activities, ADOR told News1 that specific plans and strategies for NewJeans will be announced once discussions with the members are finalized.
The NewJeans members, who had been embroiled in a dispute with ADOR since November 2024, announced their return to the agency last November. In a subsequent statement, ADOR confirmed that after careful deliberation, Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni had decided to rejoin the company. At that time, they noted that internal discussions about Minji’s future involvement were ongoing.
The release of official content featuring all four members together has sparked intense speculation about NewJeans’ imminent return.
Earlier, ADOR had stated regarding Danielle that they’ve concluded that it’s no longer feasible to continue the partnership with her as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist, and have notified her of contract termination. Subsequently, ADOR filed a lawsuit against Danielle for breach of contract and damages. They are also pursuing legal action against one of Danielle’s family members and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Min Hee-jin, holding them accountable for NewJeans’ departure and the delay in their comeback.
