Singer BIBI’s performance at Waterbomb Seoul 2026 has sparked controversy over its suggestive nature.
BIBI appeared at Waterbomb Seoul 2026, held on July 25 at the outdoor Global Stage at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
That day, BIBI took the stage wearing a tight white jumpsuit and performed hit songs such as “Bam Yanggaeng” and “Bad X.”
Later in the performance, she unzipped her jumpsuit to reveal the bikini top she was wearing underneath. She then knelt down while surrounded by male dancers, looked up at them, grabbed the microphone held by one of the dancers, and continued singing.
The video went viral on social media and online communities, sparking heated debate over BIBI’s provocative performance.
Some netizens criticized the performance, saying, “It’s way too risqué,” “It’s embarrassing because it brings to mind specific sexual acts,” and “Even for a festival, the staging was excessive.” On the other hand, others argued that it fit the Waterbomb concept and the stage should be judged solely on its own merits.
BIBI also experienced a wardrobe malfunction back in 2022. While taking off her top, her swimsuit strap came undone.
Waterbomb is a water-themed music festival that has become a major annual event, generating buzz every summer. In particular, since minors are not allowed to attend, the festival consistently sparks controversy with its daring performances and revealing outfits.
However, while minors cannot attend the performances in person, there are concerns that such content is still exposed to them as these issues spread online. Additionally, it has been pointed out as a problem that artists are subjected to malicious comments of a sexual harassment nature due to sensationalized video edits.
Kwon Eun Bi, who took the stage at Waterbomb in 2023 and earned the nickname Waterbomb Goddess, has filed multiple lawsuits regarding sexual harassment, malicious defamation, and the distribution of doctored photos.
Amid this, BIBI has once again found herself at the center of controversy as her daring performance at this year’s Waterbomb has drawn significant attention.
