SEVENTEEN members DK (29, Lee Seok-min) and Vernon (28, Choi Han-sol) are set to fulfill their mandatory military service.
Pledis Entertainment, their agency, announced on Monday that DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the Army on September 8. The agency assured fans that he will continue to participate in all scheduled official activities until his enlistment date.
The agency also requested that fans refrain from visiting the training center on the day of enlistment, as the ceremony will be attended by numerous soldiers and their families.
As for Vernon, the agency stated that he will begin his military service on August 20. Like DK, he will participate in all scheduled official activities until his enlistment. Fans are asked to avoid visiting both the training center on his enlistment day and his alternative service location.
Pledis Entertainment appealed to Carats, SEVENTEEN’s fandom, for their continued support: It asks for the unwavering love and encouragement so that DK and Vernon can diligently fulfill their military duties and return in even better health.
DK and Vernon made their debut as part of SEVENTEEN in May 2015. Since then, they’ve won over fans and the general public with a string of hits including “Adore U,” “Mansae,” “Pretty U,” “Very Nice,” “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “Clap,” “Oh My!,” “Left & Right,” “Rock with You,” “Hot,” and “_WORLD.”
Jeonghan became the group’s first member to complete military service after being discharged in June. Currently, Wonwoo is serving as a social service agent, while Hoshi and Woozi are continuing their active-duty service in the Army. Leader S.Coups received an exemption due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, while Joshua, Jun, and The8 are exempt as foreign nationals.
All SEVENTEEN members recently renewed their contracts with Pledis Entertainment on July 13.
