Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest budget carrier, is set to revolutionize its in-flight Wi-Fi services by partnering with SpaceX’s satellite internet service, Starlink.

The airline announced plans to gradually roll out Starlink’s high-speed satellite network across its fleet starting in 2027. This upgrade promises passengers access to high-speed internet during flights, enabling high definition (HD) video streaming, online gaming, and seamless business operations at 30,000 feet.

This ambitious project is a joint effort with other major airlines under the Indigo Partners investment umbrella. The Starlink system will be installed on more than 1,000 aircraft, including those of Cebu Pacific, Frontier Airlines, Wizz Air, Volaris, and JetSMART.

Beyond enhancing passenger experience, the airline anticipates that improved in-flight connectivity will streamline information sharing among flight crews and ground staff, boosting overall operational efficiency.

Xander Laro, Cebu Pacific’s President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized that in today’s travel landscape, reliable internet connectivity has become as essential as a comfortable seat. It’s committed to maximizing in-flight connectivity while maintaining the competitive pricing, ensuring an elevated experience for the passengers.
