CJ Olive Young announced on Aug. 5 that it will officially launch the “Olive Young K-Beauty Edit” display at around 580 Sephora offline stores across the U.S. and on Sephora’s online platform on Aug. 20 local time.
Olive Young partnered with Sephora in January to help promising K-beauty brands enter major global retail channels and expand their reach among local consumers by leveraging Olive Young’s product curation capabilities and brand recognition.
By utilizing Sephora’s extensive offline retail network across the U.S., Olive Young aims to rapidly increase access to local consumers while securing a dedicated curation space under the Olive Young brand to strengthen brand awareness.
The partnership reflects Olive Young’s strategy of positioning itself as a K-beauty platform in the U.S. market by building a collaborative relationship with Sephora, which has already established a strong presence as a beauty retailer, rather than competing directly.
The Olive Young K-Beauty Edit was designed as a curated space to showcase the diversity and latest trends of K-beauty to global consumers. The display features approximately 150 products from 19 K-beauty brands, focusing on skincare categories popular among North American consumers, including serums, creams, and sun care products, as well as toner pads, new-format cleansers, and sheet masks that represent the broader K-skincare routine.
Sephora plans to promote Olive Young K-Beauty Edit through major marketing channels, including outdoor advertising displays at its Times Square flagship store in New York. The retailer will also distribute promotional content introducing Olive Young K-Beauty Edit to Sephora members across the U.S.
Launch events will also be held in major U.S. markets. Starting Aug. 20, Olive Young will operate pop-up trucks in front of select Sephora stores in locations including Times Square in New York, Austin, Texas, and Miami, Florida. The events will feature photo zones and product sampling activities in areas with high shopping traffic.
Following the U.S. launch, Olive Young plans to accelerate its global expansion. The Olive Young K-Beauty Edit will be introduced at Sephora offline stores in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong within this year, with further expansion planned for Canada, Australia, the U.K., and the Middle East next year.
Kim Do-young, head of Olive Young’s Global MD Business Division, said, “Sephora will serve as a channel to introduce K-beauty to a broader range of local consumers in a familiar and accessible way.” He added, “Through Olive Young K-Beauty Edit, which combines Olive Young’s differentiated merchandising capabilities with Sephora’s strong retail infrastructure, more consumers will be able to discover high-quality K-beauty brands.”
