Jacob Misiorowski Breaks Record: Fastest 200 Strikeouts in MLB History!

Jacob Misiorowski of the Milwaukee Brewers continues to dominate Major League Baseball (MLB) with his blistering fastball, adding another milestone to his impressive resume.

At American Family Field in Milwaukee, Misiorowski took the mound against the Minnesota Twins. He delivered a stellar performance, going 6 innings while allowing just 4 hits, striking out 9, and surrendering 3 runs.

Entering the game with 195 strikeouts on the season, Misiorowski wasted no time padding his stats. He fanned two batters in each of the first two innings before reaching the coveted 200-strikeout mark by getting Alan Roden to whiff in the third.

By achieving this feat in just 129⅓ innings, Misiorowski shattered the Brewers’ franchise record for fewest innings to reach 200 strikeouts. He easily surpassed Corbin Burnes’ previous mark of 145⅔ innings set in 2021.

But Misiorowski’s accomplishments don’t end there.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, he now ranks second all-time for the fewest innings needed to notch 200 strikeouts in a season. Only Spencer Strider of the Atlanta Braves did it faster, reaching the milestone in 123⅓ innings last year.

Misiorowski has been rewriting the record books this season with a fastball that flirts with 105 mph (approximately 169 km/h) and an uncanny ability to make batters swing and miss.

In June, he set the record for the fastest pitch ever thrown by a starting pitcher. Last month, he etched his name in Brewers history by striking out the first seven Colorado Rockies he faced.

With his 9-strikeout performance Thursday, Misiorowski extended his MLB-leading total to 204, as he continues his assault on the record books and opposing hitters alike.
