Jisoo of BLACKPINK has issued another apology to fans who felt let down by the group’s 10th-anniversary event.

BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa hosted a live broadcast on the fan platform Weverse on August 8 to commemorate their decade-long journey.

Jisoo kicked off the broadcast with a heartfelt message: It planned a small event today, hoping to see many of you. They’re well aware that it’s the10th anniversary – a truly significant milestone for them. Unfortunately, there were some communication hiccups, and she deeply regrets that.

She continued that she had hoped for today to be filled with joy and happiness. To the Blinks who might be feeling disappointed, she wants to express her sincere apologies and love. She hopes it can understand where they’re coming from.

Previously, YG Entertainment, which oversees BLACKPINK’s group activities, announced on August 6 that the group would host a 10th Anniversary Meet and Greet at Seoul’s National Museum of Korea on the afternoon of August 8. However, they noted that only some members would attend due to scheduling conflicts.

BLACKPINK’s fandom had recently voiced their frustration over the lack of celebratory events leading up to the 10th anniversary. The late announcement, made just two days prior, only fueled their disappointment. Fans expressed their hurt over not all members being present for such a momentous occasion.

In response to the backlash, YG clarified to News1 on August 7 that all four members – Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa – would indeed attend the anniversary event.

Later, Jisoo took to Weverse to share her thoughts: Over the past decade, both as BLACKPINK and as Jisoo, it has faced numerous challenges. The goal has always been to showcase the best selves and bring happiness during tough times. It pains me to see so many Blinks upset. But she wants to emphasize that it never forgets it’s the Blinks who have made BLACKPINK shine so brightly.

Since their debut on August 8, 2016, BLACKPINK has climbed to global stardom with hit tracks like “Whistle,” “Playing with Fire,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Pink Venom,” “Shut Down,” and “Ready for Love.” While they’ve renewed their contract with YG for group activities through 2024, each member is pursuing individual projects under separate management.
