KATSEYE latest single “Animal” has climbed to a new peak on Spotify, setting a personal record for the group.
HYBE and Geffen Records reported on August 8 that “Animal” ascended one position to claim the 8th spot on Spotify’s Weekly Top Song Global chart for the week of July 31 to August 6.
This achievement marks KATSEYE’s highest ranking on this particular chart. “Animal” had previously debuted at No. 9 the week before, already surpassing their former best of No. 18 with “Pinky Up”.
The track held steady in the UK, securing the 18th position on the Official Singles Top 100 chart for August 7-13, maintaining its top 20 status for a second consecutive week. Stateside, “Animal” made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 24 on August 8, while also landing at No. 10 on the Billboard Global 200.
“Animal” carries a powerful message about shedding societal expectations and embracing one’s true nature. The track is set to feature on KATSEYE’s upcoming third mini-album WILD, slated for release on August 14.
KATSEYE, formed through the HYBE and Geffen Records collaborative audition project The Debut: Dream Academy, burst onto the U.S. music scene in 2024. Their discography includes hits like “Debut”, “Touch”, “Gnarly”, and “Gabriella”. The group’s meteoric rise was cemented at this year’s American Music Awards, where they clinched three awards including Best New Artist. Their industry impact was further recognized with two nominations at the 68th Grammy Awards.
