BTS member V has disclosed his ongoing struggle with hearing issues.
On Wednesday, V and Jungkook connected with fans through a live broadcast on Weverse, the group’s fan communication platform, to share updates about their recent activities.
During their chat, V opened up about his hearing problems, revealing that he’s never shared this with ARMY before, but his hearing has been deteriorating for about two and a half years now. If his left ear’s hearing capacity is at 100%, his right ear only functions at about 30%.
He went on to explain that the condition worsened during his military service. Being surrounded by other athletes, it was often dismissed as a mental toughness issue. He started believing it himself. V added that now, he’s actively seeking medical treatment and regularly visiting the hospital.
In other news, BTS is currently in the midst of their world tour ARIRANG. The group is set to perform at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on August 15 and 16.
