Girls’ Generation’s new unit, HRS (Girls’ Generation-HRS), billed as the 6th generation rookie girl group, is finally set to make their debut.

SM Entertainment announced that HRS will release their new digital single “Skibidi” on various music platforms at 6:00 p.m. (Korean time) Monday.

The single features two tracks: the title song “Skibidi” and the B-side “Lowkey In Love”. A performance video for the title track will also drop simultaneously with the music release.

“Skibidi” showcases a dynamic composition that blends house music with hip-hop. The track is peppered with Arabian string samples, adding an exotic flavor. Its genre-defying progression and the empowering message of creating its own new path highlight HRS’s unique appeal.

The B-side “Lowkey In Love” is a dance-pop track infused with HRS’s positive energy. It boasts a nostalgic retro vibe, complemented by lively brass sounds, a rhythmic groove, and an infectious melody that’s sure to lift spirits.

HRS was formed earlier this year through Hyoyeon’s YouTube channel “Hyoyeon’s Level Up”, bringing together Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung as a project group. Hyoyeon was voted as the main vocalist. The unit’s name is derived from the first syllables of the members’ names, similar to the naming convention of Girls’ Generation’s previous unit, TTS (Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun).

The trio garnered attention by documenting their girl group preparation process, including center selection, main vocal auditions, and debut team formation. Riding on their popularity, they appeared on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” last May, where Hyoyeon quipped that it started this as a joke, but she never imagined they’d end up on the show.

During their debut preparations, HRS met with the CP of MBC’s “Show! Music Core” and collaborated with Hearts to Hearts. They’re positioning themselves as the 6th generation rookie girl group, armed with two decades of industry experience and the fresh energy of newcomers.

HRS, now an official unit, pre-released their new songs “Skibidi” and “Lowkey In Love” at the 2026 Caschool Festival held at Seoul Land in Gyeonggi Province on August 22. Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung proved their enduring idol power with diverse vocals and electrifying performances, creating quite a buzz.

With their candid and relatable personas, HRS has finally emerged, and fans are eagerly anticipating their upcoming activities.
