SHINee’s Onew is set to make a solo comeback, treating fans to three new tracks.
Griffin Entertainment, Onew’s agency, announced on Friday that the artist dropped a trailer for his first single album Illusion on the official YouTube channel at midnight. The release is slated for October 20.
Fans can look forward to a series of releases: the first title track drops on September 29, followed by a second song on October 7. The single album, featuring the third title track, will hit streaming platforms on October 20 at 6:00 p.m. (KST).
The intriguing trailer captures a crowd’s startled reaction as they gaze skyward, before cutting to Onew’s beaming face. The backdrop, a collage of concept photos from Onew’s solo ventures, cleverly nods to the iconic mosaic poster from “The Truman Show.”
Illusion marks Onew’s first domestic release in approximately seven months, following his mini-album Tough Love which dropped in March.
Onew, who debuted with K-pop powerhouse SHINee in 2008, launched his solo career with the mini-album Voice in 2018. In a recent career move, he joined Griffin Entertainment as their inaugural artist in 2024, signaling an exciting new chapter in his musical journey.
The multi-talented artist is set to dazzle fans with a string of solo concerts: Tokyo on September 22-23, Taipei on October 3, and a two-night stint in Seoul from October 31 to November 1.
