Singer and actress IU commemorated her debut anniversary with a generous donation of 200 million KRW (approximately 145,000 USD), continuing her tradition of heartfelt philanthropy.

EDAM Entertainment, IU’s agency, announced that the star donated 50 million KRW (about 36,000 USD) each to four organizations: the Korea Social Welfare Association, Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, Heart-to-Heart Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity Korea. The funds will support various causes, including youth independence programs, rehabilitation therapy for children and adolescents, and housing improvements for veterans.

Known for her consistent acts of generosity during special occasions, IU has previously donated 300 million KRW (about 217,000 USD) on her birthday and 100 million KRW (about 72,000 USD) on Children’s Day this year. Her latest contribution on her debut anniversary has once again touched the hearts of fans and the public alike.

While marking her debut anniversary with this meaningful gesture, IU is also making waves in the music scene. Her recently released digital singles “From This Star” and “Dear My Crazy Soulmate” have been dominating the top spots on major music charts.

IU’s musical journey began in 2008 with her debut song “Lost Child” (Mia). Since then, she has released a string of hit tracks that have captivated audiences for years, including “Boo,” “Marshmallow,” “Nagging,” “Good Day,” “The Story Only I Didn’t Know,” “You & I,” “The End of the Day,” “Red Shoes,” “Friday,” “Sogyeokdong,” “Through the Night,” “Love Poem,” “Palette,” “Eight,” “Lilac,” “Strawberry Moon,” “Shopper,” and “Bye, Summer.”
