K-pop sensation Cortis narrowly missed out on the Best New Artist award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The star-studded event took place on Monday morning (Korean time) at the iconic Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Cortis was up against fierce competition in the Best New Artist category, including rising stars Bella Kay and Sienna Spyro. In a nail-biting finish, Sienna Spyro ultimately clinched the coveted title.
The talented group didn’t go home empty-handed, though, as they also secured nominations in the Best Group and Best K-Pop categories, showcasing their growing influence in the global music scene.
The MTV VMAs, which debuted in 1984, have long been considered one of the music industry’s most prestigious events, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and American Music Awards in recognizing outstanding achievements in popular music.
