On Tuesday, DC Inside conducted a poll asking, which star do you think would live without spending even 1 KRW (about 0 USD) around them, no matter how much they earn? Kim Jong Kook emerged as the top choice.
Out of 7,506 total votes, Kim Jong Kook secured first place with 1,214 votes (16%). The singer and variety show star is well-known for his modest lifestyle despite his success in multiple entertainment ventures.
Kim Jong-kook has cultivated a penny-pincher image by minimizing unnecessary expenses and prioritizing fitness and self-care. He’s made headlines by revealing on broadcasts that he saves the majority of his income.
Jeon Won Ju claimed second place with 1,126 votes (15%). Renowned in showbiz circles for her financial acumen, Jeon has frequently shared her economical lifestyle and saving strategies on various television (TV) shows.
While her extreme frugality has sparked some debate, Jeon recently turned heads by disclosing that she’s held onto SK Hynix stocks for over 15 years, having purchased them in 2011.
Seo Jang Hoon rounded out the top three with 650 votes (9%). The former basketball pro turned TV personality has often shared his pragmatic views on spending and financial management across multiple variety shows. Seo regularly engages with audiences about his economic principles and practical approach to life, continuing to offer candid financial advice through his broadcast appearances.
Other notable mentions in the poll included Jang Won Young, Lim Woo Il, and Kyuhyun. Jang has gained attention for her disciplined self-management and sharp image, while both Lim and Kyuhyun have discussed their thrifty habits and rational economic outlooks on various entertainment programs.
