BLACKPINK’s Jisoo was moved to tears once again following the tragic passing of Mathilde Favier (57), Dior’s head of public relations.
The K-pop star took to social media on Wednesday, sharing snapshots from her attendance at the Dior collection show during Paris Fashion Week.
One poignant image captured Jisoo and Héloïse Agostinelli, Mathilde’s daughter, sharing an intimate moment on the runway, their hands clasped together in a touching display of their close bond.
Another photo showed the pair in a heartfelt embrace. Visibly emotional, Jisoo expressed her love, to which Héloïse responded, “I love you too, and Mom loved you very much.” When Jisoo inquired about Héloïse’s well-being, the latter confessed to missing her mother deeply. Jisoo empathized, saying she felt the same. In a moving gesture, Héloïse introduced Jisoo to her family as Mom’s Korean daughter, causing Jisoo to tear up and admit that she can’t stop crying.
The tragedy struck in August when, according to AFP, Mathilde Favier and her husband, film producer Nicolas Altmayer (61), lost their lives in a devastating collision with a truck while attempting to overtake another vehicle in western France’s Niort region.
Mathilde Favier had been a pivotal figure in Dior’s public relations. In a heartfelt tribute, Bernard Arnault, chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LVMH (Dior’s parent company), honored her memory through an official post on Dior’s Instagram.
Jisoo took to social media to express her grief, writing that finding the right words to say goodbye feels impossible. From the moment she began her journey with Dior, Mathilde welcomed her with such warmth and kindness. Jisoo continued that her deepest condolences go out to the family and all who knew and loved you. She will miss Mathilde terribly and forever cherish their memories together. The emotional reunion between Jisoo and Mathilde’s daughter at the show, marked by tears, underscored the profound connection they shared, leaving a palpable sense of loss in its wake.
