Former IZ*ONE member YENA, who has carved out a distinctive solo career, is now setting her sights on a hit duet.
YH Entertainment announced that YENA will drop her new digital single “A Rare Woman (Feat. NOWIMYOUNG)” on various music platforms at 6:00 p.m. (KST) on Friday.
This release marks YENA’s first new track in seven months, following her fifth mini-album Love Catcher from March.
“A Rare Woman” reimagines the opening track from Block B’s 2014 fourth mini-album H.E.R.
While the original playfully expressed attraction, this fresh take spotlights a flirtatious exchange between YENA, who declares herself a rare woman, and her younger pursuer, NOWIMYOUNG. Their chemistry sizzles through contrasting vocal tones in a captivating back-and-forth.
YENA previously teased fans with a live performance of the track alongside NOWIMYOUNG during her August encore concert From Square One, A World That Seems Within Reach: The Movie, building anticipation for the studio version.
YENA burst onto the K-pop scene in 2018 as a multi-talented member of the project group IZ*ONE, showcasing her skills in vocals, rap, and dance. Following the group’s disbandment, she launched her solo career in January 2022 with the mini-album SMiLEY, quickly turning heads with her effervescent energy and unique artistic vision.
