Avengers: Endgame has reclaimed its crown as the highest-grossing film worldwide, propelled by its recent re-release.

Box Office Mojo reported on October 6 that Avengers: Endgame has now amassed a staggering 2.925 billion USD in global ticket sales. This monumental figure surpasses the previous record held by Avatar, which had dominated the worldwide box office for half a decade.

The 2019 blockbuster made its triumphant return to theaters last month under the banner Avengers: Endgame Encore.

This remarkable achievement comes as the film, seven years after its initial debut, raked in an additional 126 million USD solely from its re-release.

With this surge, Avengers: Endgame has recaptured the top spot it lost to Avatar in 2021, marking a dramatic comeback after five years.

Avengers: Endgame Encore dominated the global box office from its opening weekend, securing the second-highest global opening for a re-release. This resurgence not only demonstrates the enduring appeal of the Avengers franchise but also fuels anticipation for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

Slated for release this December, Avengers: Doomsday will be helmed by the Russo brothers, the visionary duo behind the entire Avengers saga. This latest installment continues the epic journey that began with The Avengers in 2012, followed by Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019) – a series that has become the cornerstone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a twist that’s sure to excite fans, Robert Downey Jr., beloved for his iconic portrayal of Iron Man, will return to the franchise in a surprising new role as the formidable Doctor Doom.
