K-pop sensation BTS proved their global star power by drawing a staggering crowd of approximately 150,000 fans to their debut performance in Peru.

The powerhouse group held their BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG IN LIMA at Lima’s Estadio San Marcos on October 7, 9, and 10 (local time).

Initially slated for two shows, overwhelming demand prompted the addition of a third date. All three concerts sold out, with a total attendance surpassing 151,500 enthusiastic fans.

The stadium erupted with deafening cheers and collective singing as BTS took the stage, matching the crowd’s fervor with their electrifying performance. The members won hearts by expressing their affection in Spanish, exclaiming “Los amo” (I love you), and sharing their amazement at the crowd’s passion. The energy here is absolutely incredible, they marveled. It can’t believe they waited this long to come to Peru!

Jimin, whose birthday falls on October 13, received thunderous applause when he vowed that he’ll always cherish the fact that it showers them with so much love from across the globe.

The BTS phenomenon extended beyond the concert venue, breathing new life into Lima’s tourism and local economy. Even before the shows, key institutions were abuzz with projections of the group’s economic impact. The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) anticipated over 50,000 visitors to Lima, forecasting a tourism sector boost of approximately 18.7 million USD.

The Lima Chamber of Commerce went further, estimating potential economic activity could reach a whopping 200 million PEN (about 58.4 million USD), underscoring BTS’s remarkable influence.

As part of their ongoing ARIRANG world tour, which kicked off in April, BTS is set to rock Santiago, Chile, on October 14, 16, and 17. The septet will then continue their South American leg with performances in La Plata, Argentina, and São Paulo, Brazil.
