LifestyleLionel Messi Shines Again: 2 Goals in Inter Miami's 4-0 Victory Over DC United

Lionel Messi, who recently retired from the Argentina national team, made a triumphant return to Inter Miami, netting multiple goals in an impressive display.

On October 11, Messi led Inter Miami to a dominant 4-0 victory over DC United in a Major League Soccer (MLS) home game at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Argentine superstar found the back of the net twice, continuing his scintillating form.

This performance comes just days after Messi’s farewell match for Argentina against Benin, where he contributed a goal and two assists, proving that his club form remains as stellar as ever.

Starting on the right wing, Messi extended Inter Miami’s lead to 3-0 just two minutes into the second half, capitalizing on a well-placed pass from Luis Suárez.

He wasn’t done yet, though. In the 60th minute, Messi showcased his brilliance once again, receiving a pass from Rodrigo De Paul, deftly evading defenders, and slotting home a left-footed shot into the corner of the net.

This brace extends Messi’s remarkable scoring streak to six consecutive games across club and country, a run that began with his goal against Nashville SC in MLS action last month.

The goals also pushed Messi’s career tally to an astounding 934, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest goal-scorers in soccer history.

With 23 goals this season, Messi currently tops the MLS scoring charts, looking to defend his Golden Boot title after netting 29 goals last year.

The win, powered by Messi’s brace and Suárez’s two goals and an assist, marks Inter Miami’s first victory in six league matches. The result improves their record to 13 wins, 10 draws, and 5 losses (49 points), solidifying their second-place position in the Eastern Conference.
