Tom Cruise, who visited South Korea to promote the film Digger (directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu), recently met with popular Korean webtoon artist Kian84.
Warner Bros. Korea announced that Cruise participated in a filming session for Kian84’s YouTube channel, “Life84.”
During the shoot, Cruise was visibly impressed by Kian84’s unique artwork inspired by his films. The Hollywood star offered sincere responses to Kian84, who was conducting his first-ever interview, living up to his reputation as Kind Uncle Tom. Kian84, for his part, openly expressed his long-standing admiration for Cruise, dating back to his childhood.
This marks Cruise’s 13th visit to South Korea, setting a record for the most visits by an international actor. The unexpected meetup between Cruise and Kian84 first made waves when the artist shared a teaser on social media.
Digger follows the story of an eccentric billionaire, Digger Rockwell, whose Greenland glacier drilling operation triggers a small crack that escalates into a global catastrophe. Cruise portrays the arrogant and quirky oil tycoon Rockwell in this high-stakes thriller, now showing in theaters nationwide.
