On Tuesday, Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, met with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang, according to Russian state media.
Shoigu visited North Korea at the special instruction of President Vladimir Putin, marking his third trip to the country in the past three months.
The Russian National Security Council stated that the purpose of the visit was to hold follow-up discussions on agreements reached earlier this month. These talks are part of efforts to implement the outcomes within the framework of the newly signed Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between Moscow and Pyongyang.
Shoigu had also met with Kim on June 4, during which the two held a two-hour discussion covering the war in Ukraine and security developments on the Korean Peninsula.
