
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the command of the 11th Corps of the Korean People’s Army to boost troop morale.
The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, reported on its front page on November 2 that Kim, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited the command of the 11th Corps of the Korean People’s Army on the previous day. Pak Jong-chon, Vice Chairman of the Party’s Central Military Commission, accompanied him on the visit.
The 11th Corps, nicknamed the Storm Corps, is an elite unit that reportedly formed the core of North Korean forces deployed to Russia last year.
After touring the Revolutionary History Museum, Kim praised the unit, saying that this corps embodies the Party’s leadership achievements and serves as a reliable vanguard upholding the military’s noble reputation and enduring legacy. Its distinguished record of producing numerous heroes of the Republic in this new era of Juche revolution proudly symbolizes the heroism of the People’s Army.
Page 2 reported that Party Secretaries Jo Yong-won and Ri Hi-yong inspected the Jeongnam Coal Mine of the Deokcheon District Coal Mining Complex on November 1. The paper stated that Comrades Jo and Ri encouraged the underground workers, who are intensifying their production efforts with high enthusiasm to greet the 9th Party Congress as a congress of victors and glory.
On Page 3, the newspaper reported that a delegation of graduating students from Chosun University, affiliated with the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), visited Pyongyang on November 1. The article noted that the delegation paid their respects at the statues of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill.
Page 4 highlighted ongoing autumn land management projects across the country, noting some successes. It emphasized that a fundamental change in work attitude and methods is necessary to achieve a breakthrough in land management efforts.
Page 5 covered a national information technology exhibition. At the event, Choi Min-cheol, director of the Ministry of Information Industry, stated that this exhibition demonstrates that under the Party’s wise leadership, the rapid advancements in information and communication technology, digital technology, and artificial intelligence over the past few years have elevated the informatization and digitization of all sectors of national management and social life to new heights.
Page 6 criticized capitalism, asserting that it generates inhumane relationships, intensifying distrust and discord, which devastate society. It further claimed that the deepening distrust, discord, hatred, and hostility are accelerating the demise of capitalism, a relic of history.
