North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attended the inauguration ceremony of a hospital and local industrial factory in Yonggang County, Nampo City. As the year draws to a close, North Korea is prominently showcasing the achievements of its Local Development 20X10 Policy in a bid to strengthen internal unity.
The Workers’ Party of Korea’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Tuesday that the inauguration ceremony for the Yonggang County hospital and local industrial factory took place on the previous day, marking a grand finale to the 2025 construction season.
Kim personally attended the ceremony, with Ri Il-hwan, a secretary of the Party Central Committee, delivering the inaugural address. Following the ribbon-cutting, Kim toured the hospital and factory, inspecting medical equipment and production processes.
Kim stated that this year, it has taken another significant step towards its sacred mission of achieving substantial changes across the nation. Through the expanded implementation of local development policies, including the construction of standard local hospitals in Kangdong County, Kumsong City, and Yonggang County, it has accumulated valuable achievements and experiences that will elevate local construction to a new level of development.
He emphasized that ensuring that these valuable creations become a powerful driving force for the development of socialist healthcare is a critical and responsible revolutionary task, equally as important as their construction.
Kim remarked that with the completion of the Yonggang County hospital and local industrial factories, it has successfully concluded the construction of the model hospitals and comprehensive service centers planned for this year, along with 20 local industrial factories in various cities and counties. Based on the unwavering support and patriotic enthusiasm of our people, it has opened a new chapter that will accelerate the comprehensive development of its socialist construction.
The newspaper noted that the inauguration of the Yonggang County hospital and local industrial factory is a triumphant result of the local development policy vigorously implemented under the unique state-building ideology and wise leadership of our great Comrade Kim. This event has further strengthened the confidence in the bright future of a prosperous and thriving socialist Korea.
North Korea plans to construct model local hospitals in three areas, including Yonggang County, Kangdong County, and Kumsong City, with the intention of expanding this initiative nationwide starting next year. With the completion of the Yonggang County project, all three model hospitals have now been built, and the construction of the 20 local industrial factories planned for this year has also been finalized.
As the year comes to a close, North Korea continues to announce the completion of various local industrial factories and hospitals across the country. This emphasis on local development is widely interpreted as laying the groundwork for major policy announcements at the upcoming 9th Party Congress scheduled for early next year.
