North Korea has reported a surge in production enthusiasm at the Sangwon Cement Complex, which was recently visited by Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, following a party congress.

On Tuesday, the party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published an editorial titled, Let’s Take Bigger, More Vigorous Steps Towards New Change, Following Sangwon’s Torch. The article stated that workers and officials at the complex are now producing 1.2 times more cement than planned daily, in a bold effort to surpass last year’s records.

The newspaper emphasized that Sangwon’s torch represents the flame of ideological supremacy. It urged officials to emulate Sangwon’s workers by fulfilling the party’s objectives with determination and confidence. The editorial stressed the importance of identifying optimized methods for increasing production and implementing proactive measures to ensure sustained growth in their respective units.

Page 2 reported on the completion of 10,000 housing units in the Hwasong District, describing the area as bustling with new residents moving in. The article proclaimed that the scene of new homes in the Hwasong District, increasingly imbued with socialist imagery, vividly illustrates the people’s new life and the hope-filled tomorrow. This flourishes beautifully alongside the prosperous era of Kim’s great leadership in Pyongyang.

The third page covered the nationwide excitement among miners following Kim’s speech at the Chunseong Youth Coal Mine. The newspaper claimed that workers and miners across the country are redoubling their loyalty and patriotic fervor, vigorously pushing forward in the struggle to increase coal production.

Page 4 highlighted that comprehensive development requires maximizing the creative power of the masses and optimizing operational methods to achieve the best results. It emphasized that scientific accuracy, foresight, and practicality are key factors in ensuring this approach. The page also reported that graduating high school students from North Hamgyong Province had volunteered for service at frontline border posts.

The fifth page announced the opening of the 2026 Spring National Sports Festival. The event will feature over 540 competitions across more than 30 sports, divided into professional and recreational categories, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, weightlifting, gymnastics, and taekwondo.

The final page introduced families who had moved into new apartments in a prominent district. They were quoted as saying that many families with multiple children are living happily in the 80-story high-rise apartments. It is committed to giving everything for the beloved socialist homeland.
