North Korea continues its propaganda efforts by constructing a memorial to honor soldiers who participated in overseas military operations.
The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on March 21 that officials from the Party’s Central Committee and the Ministry of Defense planted grass at the Heroes’ Cemetery of the Overseas Military Operations Combat Merit Memorial.
The newspaper emphasized the project’s significance, stating that the Heroes’ Cemetery resonates with deep respect for the overseas military operation veterans who selflessly sacrificed their lives to defend the sacred dignity and honor of the motherland.
The report indicated that this initiative took place on March 20, organized by the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party. Participants included Politburo members such as Kim Jae-ryong and Ri Il-hwan, along with party secretaries and defense ministry officials.
According to the newspaper, the attendees completed the landscaping of the Heroes’ Cemetery with heartfelt dedication, remembering the noble sons of the motherland.
The report also highlighted that the Overseas Military Operations Combat Merit Memorial would serve as an eternal tribute to the valuable lives of our heroic warriors and emphasized its role as a shining symbol of the state, the people, and the military.
In recent weeks, North Korea has intensified its internal propaganda efforts related to troop deployment in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, consistently portraying these soldiers as heroes.
