On Monday, Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of North Korea’s Workers’ Party, sent a congratulatory letter and flowers to Chinese President Xi Jinping to commemorate his birthday.

The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on its front page on Tuesday that Comrade Kim sent congratulations and a flower basket to Comrade Xi, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, on the occasion of his birthday.

In the same article, the newspaper boasted that overall industrial production had increased by 105% in the 100 days following the party congress in February.

The newspaper stated that this year, as it implements the decisions made at the party congress, it aims to fulfill four years’ worth of economic plans. The youth brigade members at the Ryongdong Coal Mine, who completed two years’ worth of coal production plans by June 5, have demonstrated through their fiery enthusiasm the great miracles that the power of ideology can produce.

On page 2, it was reported that Jo Yong-won, a member of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, met with Vietnam’s Minister of Public Security, Leong Tam Quang, the previous day at the Pyongyang Grand People’s Study House. The same page also mentioned a photo exhibition titled, Unfolding a Bright Prospect for Light Industry Development, which is being held in various provinces, cities, and counties.

Page 3 featured an article titled, Should We Only View This as a Style Issue? It highlighted a factory manager who raised his voice at an employee concerned about low-quality materials affecting production. The article criticized the manager’s distorted perspective of believing he knows everything and his incorrect attitude of viewing his relationship with field workers merely as one of giving orders and executing them.

The newspaper emphasized that subsequently, the party organization criticized the bureaucratic elements exhibited by that worker, serving as a wake-up call for all workers. Employees must reflect on whether they have acted courteously in every word and action before the public.

On page 4, the paper reported that a ceremony awarding doctoral degrees to North Korean expatriates in China took place on June 15 at the Pyongyang Grand People’s Study House. Page 5 stated that among the subjects reflected in the national science and technology development plan, it must proactively select cooperative research projects and enhance collaborative research among the relevant research groups.

On page 6, the paper promoted a youth educational material browsing program called Passion, which has received positive feedback. Users can easily access information about various books and purchase required titles instantly through mobile networks. Developers continuously update the product to enhance user convenience by summarizing the contents of newly added books and streamlining the purchase process for necessary titles.
