Former Love First Church pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon, identified as the alleged mastermind behind the recent disturbance at the Seoul Western District Court, participated in his first gathering via video link after being released on bail. He claimed that once the trial concludes, he will meet with Donald Trump.
Jeon made this statement during the Gwanghwamun National Sunday Union Worship held in front of the Donghwa Duty-Free Shop in Seoul’s Jongno district on the morning of April 12.
He asserted that it has emerged victorious, and added that he has no intention of returning to jail. Without his presence, South Korea would fall into North Korea’s hands.
Jeon continued that after the trial, he plans to meet with Trump for an hour through Paula White, who is in the adjacent room. He boldly stated that having dedicated my life to this cause, it’s no wonder the entire nation is entrusted to him.
Jeon also criticized the Easter joint service held at the Yoido Full Gospel Church on April 5, which was attended by the President and First Lady. He labeled it a cult and insisted on the need for a second Reformation.
Jeon faces allegations of inciting the mob that stormed the Western District Court on January 19 of last year. He is accused of using psychological manipulation over his followers and conservative YouTubers under the guise of religious faith.
In February, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office indicted him on charges of instigating unlawful entry into a special building, obstructing public officials in the performance of their duties, violating assembly and demonstration laws, and causing general traffic disruption. However, during his first trial, Jeon requested bail, citing health concerns.
The court granted bail, taking into account his health conditions, including diabetes, and the low risk of flight.
Jeon’s next trial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on April 17.
