The U.S. Department of State announced on Wednesday that it hosted a trilateral meeting with South Korea and Japan to enhance cooperation in overseas disaster response.
The meeting was attended by key officials from the three countries, including Im Hye-rim, Director of Multilateral Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Participants shared their respective nations’ emergency relief systems and discussed notable case studies. They also explored strategies for swifter and more effective collaboration during future disasters.
As a result of this meeting, the State Department aims to strengthen trilateral cooperation in overseas disaster response. Furthermore, the three countries plan to continue discussions on various collaborative measures to improve the effectiveness of international emergency relief efforts.
